BV Borussia Dortmund, based in the city Dortmund, is one of the most successful clubs in German football. In addition to six German football championships and two DFB Pokal victories, Dortmund won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1966 (becoming the first German team to win a European title) and the UEFA Champions League in 1997.

FC Bayern is a German sports club based in Munich, on 27th February 1900. It is best known for its professional football team, which is the most successful club in German football, having won 21 German titles and 14 cups. Since the beginning of the 2005–06 season, Munich plays its home games in the Allianz Arena.

Schalke 04 is a German football club originally from the Schalke district of Gelsenkirchen. Schalke has long been one of the most popular football teams in Germany, even though major successes have been rare since the club's heyday in the 1930s and early 1940. The mascot of the club is called Erwin, and ex-Real Madrid player Raúl is one of the latest additions to the line-up.

The city of Wolfsburg was built in 1938 to house Volkswagen workers. By 1945 they founded the VfL Wolfsburg team which has played in the 1st Division of the Bundesliga ever since, making them one of the youngest teams in Germany. Their stadium is the Volkswagen-Arena.

VfB Stuttgart a German sports club based in Stuttgart. With 43,000 members Stuttgart the largest sports club in the state and the fifth largest in the country. The team has participated in all but two Bundesliga seasons. The team has won the national championship five times in total.

Hamburg Football team is one of the country's oldest, best-known and best performing clubs, with the unique distinction of having played continuously in top-flight German football since the end of World War I.

Werder Bremen was founded on 4 February 1899 by a group of sixteen vocational high school students who had won a prize of sports equipment to set them on their way. The club enjoyed some early success, fielding competitive sides and winning a number of local championships. Werder Bremen became the first club to charge spectators a fee to attend their games and to fence in their playing field.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen is a German football club based in Leverkusen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The team handily secured a place in the Bundesliga to start to play there in the 1979-80 season.

Hoffenheim, also known as Hoffe, was founded in 1945. Borussia Mönchengladbach is one of the most successful teams in Bundesliga, counting 5 league victories. Their home base is Borussia-Park Stadium in Mönchengladbach, with a capacity of 54,067, out of which 40,000 seats are taken up by club members.

Team Hannover 96 is one of the teams who have fought the hardest to be in the first division of the Bundesliga. The Reds of Hannover play at the AWD Arena, which can hold 49,000 people. The club was founded in 1896.

FSV Mainz 05 was founded in 1905 and it is a minor Bundesliga team. Nicknamed The Carnival Club because of the famous City Carnival, Mainz plays in Stadion am Bruchweg, which can hold 20,300 people.

Bundesliga founding member Eintracht Frankfurt have never won the competition, 2nd place being the closest they have ever gotten, and their thirst for success makes for truly exciting matches; even more so when they play at home, at Commerzbank-Arena stadium.
